Project Information
Synergy Engineering B.V. was engaged by Boskalis/Smit Salvage to design grillage and seafastening (G&SF) systems for the transport of jackup legs from Trinidad to Rotterdam. This project required innovative solutions for unique challenges and a rapid turnaround.
Design and Standard Compliance: Our engineering design complied with DNVGL ST-N001 guideline. The focus was on accommodating the unusual shape of the spud can and working within the constraints of limited material availability on the island.
Key Challenges:
- Time Constraints: The project demanded a swift design process due to urgent timeframes.
- Unique Design Requirements: The atypical spud can shape necessitated a bespoke design approach.
- Material Limitations: The project was further challenged by the restricted selection of materials available locally.
